Local Charles Marohn will communicate about his new bestseller, “Confessions of an Engineer in Recovery: Transportation for a Strong City,” from noon to 1:00 p. m. M. From Friday, January 3.
In the book, Marohn, an engineer with more than 20 years of experience, raises the curtain on the North American transportation system.
It explains how shipping is so bad and why it helps to keep getting worse. He writes about the fatal cost of poor design, why traditional technique puts cities on the path to insolvency, and why public transportation is struggling.
It also explains how transportation can be repaired, and why solving it will involve not only engineers, but also local citizens and officials who have effective and empowered advocates, connected with others to bring about genuine change.
Marohn is the founder and president of Strong Towns. Es a professional engineer and land use planner with decades of experience. Marohn is the member of “Strong Towns: A Bottom-Up Revolution to Rebuild American Prosperity. “

Rotary Music Festival Ends Human Trafficking to Be Held Aug. 12-14 at Lakes Music
The public is invited to Rotary’s efforts to end human trafficking with a live music fundraising concert with popular regional groups.
The electrically connected camp, primitive camp, food court, food vendors and coffee will be on site, according to the Central Lakes Rotary Charitable Foundation.
All proceeds will be used to raise awareness and teach Cass and Crow Wing counties about human trafficking and also to heal survivors.
